Nutrition

Omnivorous, human beings consume both plant and animal matter to survive. A person's typical diet should include a blend of vitamins and nutrients found in proteins, fats and carbohydrates without which long term malnutrition may occur. According to nutrition guides, children are particularly vulnerable to vitamin deficiency if proper nutrition intake is not taken seriously.

Nutritional food data indicates that a person's calorie content (how many calories consumed in a day) must include three ounces unprocessed grains for dietary fiber and vitamin B, dark green and leafy vegetables, colorful fruits for vitamin C, dairy for calcium and a small amount of lean meats or beans for protein and iron. Nutritious food must also be low in fat and sodium. Adequate amounts of water are also essential for hydration, homeostasis, body temperature regulation and digestion of nutrients in food.
