Developed by Dr. Peter D'Adamo, the Blood Type Diet consists of matching dietary needs to specific blood types to achieve optimal nutritional value of food. The Blood Type diet purports that certain foods have either a positive effect or a toxic effect on a person according to his or her blood type. For example, type B blood types are said to benefit from dairy products; type O from meat and type A from vegetables rather than meat.
